Community Beer Co.’s Bierfest Celebrates Its New Digs
After a hellish path to getting its construction permits, Community Beer Co. is hosting a grand opening for the brewery’s two-story taproom and outdoor biergarten on March 5. Community will be celebrating its new Commonwealth Drive digs with two new beer releases and a German-inspired food menu curated by award-winning chef Kent Rathbun. Party tickets include two pints and entry at 1 p.m., whereas a premier package ensures early entry at noon, two pints, and a four-pack of a commemorative Commonwealth IPA.
Huzzah! Sfuzzi Returns.
Italian food connoisseurs, rejoice: Sfuzzi is officially returning to Dallas on March 4 (dinner only, to start). Sfuzzi, long known for accessible yet upscale dinner options served in a lively and energetic environment, means you get all the glamor without breaking the bank. Expect the classics: chicken parmesan, pork chop piccata, the Mozza Burger, and more. The drink program at Sfuzzi will also bring back crowd favorites like the Frozen Bellini. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Project Pollo Brings Vegan Fast Food to Lower Greenville
Changing the accessibility of vegan and vegetarian food options in Dallas is huge for those looking for more plant-based choices. Project Pollo, a new vegan fast food restaurant that opened at 4814 Greenville Avenue, is introducing a drive-thru that serves everything vegan from Impossible patties to nachos. The emerging chain out of San Antonio will officially open on March 3 in the space that was previously occupied by the chain Start. According to Dallas CultureMap, the vegan fast food concept specializes in fried chickenless chicken sandwiches and is the brainchild of Lucas Brabury. Also expect more vegan burgers, cheeseburgers, a chikn Caesar wrap, and cheeseless mac and cheese.
A&E’s Deep Fried Dynasty Spotlights Smokey John’s Bar-B-Que
Brothers Brent and Juan Reaves of Smokey John’s—alongside other State Fair of Texas food phenoms—will be in the spotlight on March 8, when the new A&E show Deep Fried Dynasty airs. The show gives the viewer an inside look into how fairgrounds operate and, more specifically, how the State Fair of Texas excels. Smokey John’s BBQ serves up a variety of fair fare such as smoked turkey legs, deep-fried butter, Crispy Crazy Corn, Toffee Coffee Crunch Cake, and fried s’mores. Deep Fried Dynasty airs at 9 p.m. on March 8 on A&E.
