Dr. Dennis Stone, who spearheaded the UT Southwestern BioCenter and led its office for technology development, passed away last weekend from glioblastoma.

Dallas-based Lantern Pharma Inc., a biotech company focused on accelerating cancer drug approval processes using big data and artificial intelligence, has closed its Series A equity financing of $3.7 million.

The deal could represent major returns for local investors and the first topical treatment for a common eye condition.
