Stay cool. Go shopping.

It’s hot in Dallas. Here, we’ve rounded up a few excuses to shop in lovely, (mostly) air conditioned spaces, and (just in case you need it) potentially find a cool, last-minute gift for dad.

Oasis’ Plant Party | Friday

We mentioned this last week, but it’s worth reiterating: there is a plant party happening tomorrow. A party with plants. A party where you will most certainly leave with a new houseplant of some sort. And since houseplants have basically been scientifically proven to make you happier, this Oasis plant party is essentially a must-hit.

Bonafide Barbershop at DLM Supply | Saturday

From noon to 4pm, Bonafide Barbershop will be bringing their facial hair expertise to DLM Supply, the excellent men’s shop on West Davis Street. Gents can stop in for free shaves, beard trims, drinks, and to find the perfect last-minute gift for dad.

Father’s Day Pop-Up at Set & Co. | Saturday

While you’re in the neighborhood, walk a few doors down to Set & Co., where the elevated kitchenwares store will be hosting Dallas-based Breda watches and graphic artist Fernando Augusto.

Highland Park Village’s Local | Saturday

Highland Park Village’s Local market is always a good idea, but it’s an especially good idea when it’s the final monthly market of the season. Stop by on Saturday morning for fresh blooms, live music, authentic Mexican clothes from Hasta la Raíz, Kessler Pie Co. goods, contemporary designs curated by Ora et Labora, and lots more. (Again, a dad gift is almost certainly in there somewhere.) The Highland Park market will then go dark until its return this September.
