Dallas to test workers weekly and give vaccinated extra leave.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported a three-day total of 11,880 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths on Tuesday.


North Texas hospitals have 3,991 patients with COVID-19, a six patient increase from yesterday representing 27.3 percent of patients. Patients with COVID-19 account for 46.9 percent of adult ICU patients, according to DFW Hospital Council President and CEO Steve Love.


Dallas County approved new COVID-19 testing and sick leave policy for its 6,500 employees. The policy requires weekly PCR testing, and those who are fully vaccinated may opt out. Unvaccinated workers are not eligible for extra sick leave. Read more with the Dallas Morning News, here.


Tarrant County Public Health has launched a “Vaxmobile” to underserved communities. It will make weekly stops in areas that have the lowest vaccination rates. The bus is fully equipped and will open Monday, January 24 from 9 am to 12 pm. Read more here.
